Before the Planetfall madness begins on Wednesday, we want to share some updates regarding the 2023 Prime.Wiki Awards. We are so excited to be hosting the first part of our annual ceremony and celebration of the Parallel community, especially during “pack rip” day!

The 2023 PWA Nominees will be revealed during The Game Cellar’s Planetfall Pack Opening Stream tomorrow (12/13) at 8:30p EST. At that time, Goldy and Orphan will be ripping a few Planetfall packs, chatting about Planetfall and Colony, and then revealing the Nominees for 10 of the 11 award categories.
Bringing our first-ever Judge’s Panel together has been a really fun experience. Everyone is busy doing a million different things, but we’ve still had fruitful discussions about a variety of topics.
Beyond the individual nominees and categories, we also made some key decisions regarding a judge’s involvement in the PWA’s. For example:
As a group, we believe judges can be recognized for their accomplishments in some categories, but it would be unfair for them to win an Award. Therefore, judges that received the votes can only be recognized as honorary nominees. This acknowledges judges without eliminating spots for other community members to gain well-deserved recognition.
We also discussed what the “Best Player” for each Parallel truly means. We decided that it’s not just about having the most wins, but how they support the community. In some instances, the number of nominees were extended beyond three individuals, depending on the category and total votes received.
Overall, we believe this process resulted in quality selections for each category. It also created more structure to the all-new judge’s panel, allowing us to further develop it in future years.
The first round of voting for our 2023 Community Choice Award is now open, so please head over to our main website and submit the simple Google form.
Similar to last year, voting for this award will take place in two phases. Phase one is for open nominations, which means anyone in the community is allowed to vote for one individual.
Once that window closes, Phase 2 will include the Top Nominees and everyone will have another chance to vote for one Nominee. The Nominee with the most votes will win the 2023 Community Choice Award.
Phase 1 will close on Wednesday, December 20 (one week from now). Phase 2 will begin on Wednesday, December 27 and close on January 3, 2024 (one week window). Everyone who successfully votes (in either phase) is registered for a free Planetfall Player Pack from Prime.Wiki.
Prime.Wiki is setting aside 11 $PRIME as a base prize for each award winner. This does not include their commemorative NFT award, which will be minted on-chain and display similar to last year’s awards.
The base prize does not include support from potential sponsors in the web3 gaming community. We will be actively seeking and recruiting partners between now and January 11, 2024 to help bolster the prizes for each award winner.
Our official award ceremony will take place during a stream with The Game Cellar on January 11, 2024. We look forward to co-hosting this event, which will include some special guests, giveaways, and plenty of Planetfall chat with the community.
At that time, we will also be revealing more details regarding the new Prime.Wiki monthly awards program. This new initiative is aimed at rewarding players for their time and contributions to the Parallel community.
