Parallel Weekly Recap: Feb 27th – March 6th

Hello and welcome back to my weekly recap. I’m Lleeto and I look forward to documenting the Parallel and Echelon events that have occurred over the past week.

Huge week for both Parallel and Echelon: PRIME token became tradeable, the first wave of Closed Alpha testing began, terminal news, and much more.

Closed Alpha Testing Wave 1

The first wave of the Parallel TCG Closed Alpha began on February 28th.

Those lucky enough to be selected were invited to join the private alpha testing discord where they can talk about the game, play together, and stream it among themselves.

The first wave of testers loses access to the game client on March 7th. Wave two gains access on the same day, and wave two is reported to be double the size of wave one.

Parallel Alpha party

I love this picture of people who met at the Ethereum Denver event. They’re all playing the Parallel Alpha client together in a room. Seeing the game slowly yet finally make its way out to the community is amazing.

Over 11,111 Parallel games have been played

PRIME Token Launch

March 1st at 10 am EST Echelon’s PRIME token became transferrable. PRIME could finally be bought and sold with liquidity pools opening up on decentralized exchanges such as Uniswap.

Additionally, Coinbase along with many other centralized exchanges [Bybit, Mexc, Gate.io] opened trading for PRIME.

This marked a huge milestone for Echelon and Parallel. The token address can be found on Etherscan here.

So what Is Prime?

PRIME is the native asset of Echelon and Echelon-partnered games. Parallel TCG is the first game studio to partner with Echelon and integrate PRIME. Throughout 2023 Echelon will work to bring new games into the ecosystem.

Games within the Echelon ecosystem absorb PRIME and emit it through skill-based gameplay.

Coldplunge, a member of Echelon, wrote a great Twitter thread explaining this in more depth. Please read it here!

Earning PRIME

Some information on how much PRIME users can expect to earn from playing Parallel has been released.

It’s important to add that tournaments have no PRIME earning limit other than a player’s skill.

It seems the token will be hard to come by, with it taking around 3 months to win 5 games a day to earn just 111 PRIME. These numbers are expected if there are around 80,000 players.

4LL was asked: What if there are 100 million players?

4LL responded with some reassurance that the ecosystem dynamically balances costs and emissions with the number of users involved. Even with 100 million players, many of PRIME’s sinks would be accessible for a standard PRIME-earning player.

It also seems there will be other ways to boost PRIME earned besides cards and Keyframing. See the below image.

Echelon.io Update

The Echelon website saw an update as PRIME was released. Check it out here.

Terminals

Terminal sink teasing has been in fall swing. Time to hoard those shards! Soon you’ll be able to activate terminals to unlock limited edition in-game items exclusively available with PRIME.

Links to each Parallel’s terminal: Earthen, Kathari, Marcolian, Augencore, Shroud still to be revealed.
