Voting Season

Governance at Work

As of writing, Echelon announced that voting opened up for both the EADA proposal and EP candidates. Voting closes Friday, March 24, at noon EST.

From Coldplunge on the qualifications and the analysis of wallets holding $PRIME:

“All wallets holding PRIME or caching PKs at 11:59pm EST on March 15 are eligible to vote. To ensure full participation, we have removed the EADA (ex. Parallel card) requirement for voting eligibility. Our wallet analysis found that less than 1% of wallets were suspicious. In addition, roughly two thirds of wallets holding PRIME did not hold an EADA. When voting closes, Echelon will review and audit participating wallets to validate results over 72 hours. During this time, any wallet involved in gaming quadratic votes will be blocklisted and disqualified.”

This marks a time when active community members make their voices heard, and passive community members are reminded of the foundation’s work. Hopefully, for some of those folks that have been dormant, the announcements on social and the pings in Discord help them reengage in the community.

Every vote counts!

Prime Recapture Vote

The Prime Recapture vote is defined as follows:

During the community call, the team summarized the stated goals and outlined the reasoning for putting this proposal forth. Some community members expressed support, while others dissented.

Supporters pointed out that the recapture could give more active participants in the ecosystem a boost and provide more liquidity for onboarding and acquisition.

Some dissenters stated an indefinite claim period would be ideal, while others argued that indefinite was too open-ended, and they would rather see a timeline agreed to and announced.

The community eventually came to a consensus. The vote would be to support the reclaim and decide between two dates for the reclaim. Those are pictured here:

EP 2023 Voting Begins

It’s that time of year again. The vote for Emmisarry Prime Candidates is live!

You can now vote for any candidate if you are a $PRIME or PK holder. Here is the link to the Snapshot vote. Its mechanics are as follows:

To understand what each candidate can offer, visit the Echelon Forum for their backgrounds here.

The election cycle includes candidates submitting their candidacy via the above Echelon Forum, two weeks of panel discussions, and a vote. We’re in the final phase of the cycle with votes being cast.

The full body of representation will total nine EPs. This is a change from last year’s total of 11 EPs.

There are five open spots and four continuing EPs from year one. With 17 candidates in the running, the competition has been steep.

It’s an exciting time for the community as the foundation moves to year two. There is much to work on, and this set of EPs will have their work cut out.

If you are a $PRIME holder or PK holder, please get out and vote!
