Building the world(s) of Parallel

Recently the Parallel team has started sharing Landscape artwork for different worlds that Parallel factions inhabit. The lead artist on Landscapes is @janurshel. Check out their Twitter page here to see more of their work as they embark on this world building journey: https://twitter.com/janurschel.

Pictured in the hero image above is a cross section view of Sepulii from the Kathari world on Europa.

Here is a view of Sepulii from above:

Are you not a Jupiter Moon enjoyer? No problem, maybe something a little more familiar is your speed, like planet Earth. The Earthen cities of Primea and Arrisah were teased in these images. This gives a little more depth to the card Arrisah Skyscout showing the vast regions that the scouts have to patrol.

Primea gives us major JRR Tolkien vibes. If you look close enough, you can see some ancient looking symbols on the rocks.

Maybe you’re sick of Earth and want to become a Space Cowboy like Musk or Bezos. If that’s the case, these images of the Marcolian Capital City, Valli will suit your fancy. Immediately upon seeing the city, the lore surrounding the Marcolians and their thirst for innovation rang true. Do you see the ominous warships lurking in the clouds in the top left corner of the first image? Notice the Ammo Haulers streaking across the sky in both pictures too.

What does Parallel have planned for these cities? Is the stage being set for a future FPS game? Or is this merely a first step to build the lore as we approach the release of the comic?

We’re not sure, but what we do know, is that this artwork is the same consistent high-quality work that we’ve come to expect from Parallel. It helps us further our understanding of each Parallel faction, and their defining characteristics. They also show one thing to be consistent throughout, that each Parallel is human. So while each is unique, they are still bonded by their humanity.

We can’t wait to see more of these worlds soon.
